Those of you following me on social media may have seen that I sold some of my cards at two recent events. Some of you even visited me! It was great to finally get out there with my cards! I can't thank all of you enough for all of your support. I made a group of cards for the events, and I showed them in the last post and will continue to show them in the next few posts. I was floored after I saw this post by Jennifer McGuire. In the embedded video she demonstrates creating stamps from fun foam with dies. I tried this with leaf and tree dies and was amazed by how well it works. The foam took the ink very well, and I may have finally found a way to make that naughty tree die more useful!

Well, yeah, addicted to the shaker card--can't help myself. But, I had been wanting to use leaves forever! Here I also show a water colored panel, an ink blended panel, leaf die cuts colored metallic, and and my first use of an embossing folder.

Here I show some cards made with my favorite die that you've seen a bunch here, but also what I did to fix a mistake I made.
When I cut all of the paper for these cards assembly line style I didn't pay attention to the orientation and didn't realize that the owl paper had to go one direction so that the owls wouldn't be upside down until after I had glued the frame down on a folded card. To salvage this, I cut one more sheet from the die, flipped it over, and made a little journal for my friend's daughter.

Welcome to the first of four severely belated Halloween posts! Now, you know why I am trying to post everything before the end of 2015. I am so behind! Don't want to have Christmas in March...
Anyway, I went to town for three days making a whole bunch of Halloween cards. I thought it would be a good idea to practice producing a large number of cards at once before Christmas season arrived. Here are a group made mostly with pattern papers, dies, and a few additional elements, like fasteners in the one with a "spooky mirror."

As promised, some handmade cards have been added to my etsy shop! Choose birthday, blank, holiday, and more! Plus, my medieval inspired postcards are now available in sets of 4!
Unfortunately, posts with these cards will post a bit later, but you'll see them before the end of the month! I have decided I need all of my seasonal posts to make it in before January 1st so look forward to lots and lots of posts in the next few weeks! Afterwards I will probably go to a looser update schedule.

Ok, Everyone, first, I went to my first stamp show in October--it was amazing. So many awesome paper crafting supplies that I could look at in person everywhere. My mom and I went to York, PA for the Heirloom Festival. I picked up a bunch of cool things, but I also was able to buy individual Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to supplement my 12 pack. I carefully chose based on what I already had. I firmly believe in mixing these to make more colors, but it just seemed easier to nab a few more colors with tones that might be hard to easily make with the set of 12. I show these below. Let me know if you want to know a color's name or number and can't see it.
Now, when I colored the elephant I made on the card I showed in my last post, I had two trial runs that I decided to share below. The first one I liked but decided I didn't want the blue color on the final card. I may still use that elephant on an upcoming card. The other I used water with the pens and liked, but with its sketchy washy-ness, it just didn't work for the card I was working on which I was determined to do without cutting out the elephant.
When I came home from the stamp show I just had to break out my new pens immediately. I started out by coloring a few stamped images, but found myself wanting to color one more elephant. In the last image shown here, I ink blended the background and used the watercolor pens to color in the elephant and balloons. Not sure what will happen to this panel yet, but I'm generally pleased with the results, some bleeding notwithstanding.
