“Thank goodness I’m not just a clam or a ham or a dusty old jar of sour gooseberry jam! I am what I am! That’s a great thing to be! If I say so myself, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!” --Dr. Seuss

Thanks to Dr. A for illustrating this comic--what a great birthday gift!

Please scroll to the bottom for a "side note."

Other note: As this is a holiday weekend, the next post of the Book of Lael will be on Monday this coming week!

So, tonight my dad: "Are you still doing the comic? You are? Is the character on my shirt still in it? I really like him! He's got personality! You should do more with him!"

For those of you who have no reason to remember, Conky, the figural sculpture who got fired from his long standing job on the tympanum of Ste. Foy at Conques last appeared in my comic on July 11, 2010. What a blast from the past!

If anyone really DOES want to see him make a recurrence, please, by all means, do let me know! Oh, and if you'd like to own a shirt with his original guitar-shoving-down-the-throat-of-a-sinner-with-bad-taste-in-music, check out my etsy shop.

At least it wasn't a pair of cleats, right? OR Yes, it WAS funny...

Thanks for the help, dr. ks.!

Note: For this to make sense, please note that the reenactment depicted here imagines the incident happening to me, so yes, I am in a sense talking to myself in the first and last panels!

Happy Wedding, Becky and Costin!

Dearest Readers,

No regular comic today. This weekend I attended the wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends. Well wishes and much love to her and her husband!

I secretly kinda wish more of my comics could include floor plans...what does that say about me? OR What an Illinoying situation!

However, my sources tell me this type of dorm bathroom also exists in upstate New York and right here in Maryland! Just FYI.

Oh, and hey, everyone, I thought this would be a good time to remind you about my Etsy shop where you can pick up nifty postcards and t-shirts. Also, check me out on Twitter @lael_j. And if you haven't, feel free to "like" The Book of Lael on Facebook. Yay, social media!
